Working at Vacamas

At Vacamas we offer camping experiences for children aged between 7 and 16. We know from experience that each age group has different needs. Just as we hire different types of counselors to offer certain activities like swimming or woodshop, we also hire counselors who will be able to support different age groups of campers. At Vacamas there are no all camp activities, we are decentralized by age group in order to offer all children a challenging and interesting program. Each age group is called a division and although there are age guidelines, campers are placed for maturity and needs as determined by their camp interview so ages can vary.

Available Positions

Summer Camp positions available at Camp Vacamas. Currently interviewing for the following positions below:
  • Counselor - serve as role model and spend each day with one group of children.
  • Lifeguard - oversee a group, lead swim lessons.
  • Dining Hall - hourly wage; help with meal set up and preparation; meal clean up.
  • Maintenance - Maintain upkeep of camp grounds during summer.
    • All positions enjoy 3 meals daily, outdoor summer fun, staff parties and sports plus the terrific benefit of working to enhance the life of a child. Summer Season: June 30, 2019 to August 23, 2019. Staff must be available to work every day of the summer season; including 1 week of training prior to the start of the season. Staff are required to live on site.
